La Romana:- Last Friday WAO Gallery & Cultural Center delighted us with the opening of the exhibition “A Minute with Angels” by the emerging artist Ángela Pérez, where family and friends of the artist gathered to see 23 beautiful and colorful pieces exposed, who, with cerebral palsy since birth, achieves this extraordinary exhibition, making it clear that a diagnosis does not limit the art and creativity of the human being.
In this abstract exhibition the artist names her works with her feeling in a handful of color, filling us with Tranquility and Calm, with Peace in the Storm to an Abyss of Color where the Dawn brings an Atmosphere of Hope and a New Dawn, taking us to the Serenity with a Dream Resilience, transporting us from Nostalgia to a Volcano of Joy overflowing with Waterfalls of Happiness, leaving Footprints full of Sparks of Joy in a Balance that fills the Cracks in our Soul while a Whisper of Wind takes us to a Whisper to Love, completing the Melodies in the Soul.
In this, her first exhibition, Ángela Pérez makes clear to us the artistic evolution she has had in the application of wear, dragging and pouring techniques, filling the main room of WAO Gallery & Cultural Center until June 26 at 11 a.m. :00am to 7:00pm, Tuesday to Saturday, Sundays and Mondays closed.

About the Artist:
Ángela Villafaña Pérez was born on September 25, 1995 in the city of La Romana, Dominican Republic. Since she was a newborn, she was welcomed in the Hogar del Niño, where she received education, nutrition and medical care, this being her refuge, her extended family, her home, where she grew up with love and where she received all the necessary tools to develop her potential.
Despite facing the challenges of cerebral palsy and the physical limitations that this condition imposes on her, Angela has managed to overcome obstacles and leave her mark in the artistic world, thanks to the support of art teacher Jeannette Questel, who became her mentor and guide.
