Wamos Air has agreed with Iberia to operate 14 connections between Madrid and John F. Kennedy Airport in New York, starting June 7 and ending June 14, while Air Europa will have 13 round-trip Flights on the same route.

Iberia’s parent company, IAG, indicated in a statement to the agencies, according to or revealed Preferential, that contracted “certain Flights between June 7 and 14.” He explained that “the cabin on the plane that will fly the route is distributed in two classes, business and tourist, with a configuration very similar to that of our usual fleet.”

And the company added that “the gastronomic service, beverage offering and other products that we offer on board, will be those of Iberia.”

For its part, Air Europa, due to damage to some of its Boeing 787 Dreamliner and the delay in the delivery of a plane that was scheduled for May, will operate 13 round-trip Flights between Madrid and New York with Wamos aircraft. Likewise, Iberojet postponed the operation of its Flights between Madrid and Havana until June 23.

As reported REPORTUR.us, Wamos Air is advancing its fleet growth plan with very ambitious objectives. The airline hopes to reach the same aircraft this year as it had before the pandemic (13), and continue growing during 2025 to meet the huge demand. (Wamos is preparing an ambitious leap into Latam with new routes).

In an interview with Expansión, the general director of the airline, Enrique Saiz, explained at the time that “in a short time we will go from ten to thirteen aircraft and we have plans to reach 15 ships in 2025.” The A330 will continue to be its reference model.
