Veron. Every day, it becomes more “heavy” to travel through the different avenues of the Verón-Punta Cana District, due to the congested traffic jams that form not only during the so-called “peak” hours.

Driving along Barceló Avenue or the Verón-Punta Cana highway becomes a true odyssey. On average, a driver spends up to more than an hour in traffic to reach his or her destination.

The area is increasingly experiencing growth in housing, which increases the number of residents and therefore increases the vehicle fleet.

Traffic chaos is most noticeable Monday through Friday, early in the morning and late in the afternoon. The worst thing is that until now there are no feasible solutions to solve these blockages.

On the Verón-Punta Cana Highway, congestion is worse compared to the previous year, because with the opening of the Verón-Ciudad La Palma section, vehicular traffic becomes more chaotic, especially in the late afternoon. When connecting with this road, the lack of traffic lights is notable and therefore it is the agents of the General Directorate of Traffic and Land Transportation Security (Digesett), who try to bring order.

Meanwhile, in the mornings and at dusk, traffic on Barceló Avenue becomes increasingly difficult, since a driver loses an average of half to an hour.

Not only in Verón is the chaotic vehicular traffic notable, given that in areas of Bávaro such as Friusa and España Avenue, the traffic jams worsen at any time of the day and when it rains the situation is worse, due to the accumulation of water in the tracks.
