Tulum Airport now among the 10 busiest with 6 foreign airlines

Tulum airport, with six foreign airlines, has captured 0.5% of the foreign market and is now among the 10 air terminals in Mexico that handle the most international passengers, according to figures from the Federal Aviation Agency (AFAC).

The six international airlines that operate at the airport are American, Delta, United, Air Canada, Jetblue and Copa. The terminal connects 9 routes to the United States, 6 domestic routes, 2 with Canada and Panama and for December Lufthansa/Discovery. Domestic operations are operated by Aeromexico, Volaris, Mexicana and Viva.

Between December 2023 and June 2024, the airport has registered more than half a million passengers and in one weekend it managed to mobilize nearly 5 thousand users, according to operations manager Marco Martínez, as reported by Channel 10.

The expectations for the summer season are to maintain the pace of 4,500 daily passengers at the terminal, in addition, since in one week it registered 236 operations, 146 were international and 90 domestic.
