Third edition of the Dominican Boat Rally to be held from September 30 to 1 - Tourism News

The organizing committee of the Dominican Boat Rally 2024 and the company WT Events The details of one of the most anticipated events for those who love boating were revealed, edition The Roman.

The tour will take place from August 30 to September 1, with a focus on protecting the marine environment, and is based in Marina Palma Della Costa or Marina Vista Catalina & Hilton Garden Inn La Romana

The route includes a trip starting from the Marina, skirting Catalina Island, Bayahibe, Playa El Toro on Saona Island and the renowned Palmilla. The trip is around 65 nautical miles long and will run from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

56 boats have registered for the event, and the organizers expect that around 60 will take part in the event. Boats must be at least 17 feet long and have safety equipment for safe navigation.

The information was provided by Guillermo Gonzalezby Mercury Outboards RD; Alma Taverasfrom WT Events and Eduardo Lalaneamong other sailors who make up the committee.

“The purpose of this event is for participants to enjoy our coasts and the landscapes of the southeast of the Dominican island and La Romana to the maximum, with comfortable and safe sailing stages. Throughout the route there will be recreational activities for the enjoyment of the whole family, and they will be awarded prizes in various categories, although everyone will be a winner,” they indicated.

They said that more than a competition, the rally will be a time to share among friends and family.

The opening cocktail will be held on Friday 30th at 7:00 p.m. on the Hilton Garden Inn Terrace, and to conclude, the awards ceremony will take place with a pool party, tastings and a DJ at the same location.

The most fun team, the best performing boat, the most disciplined boat, the slowest boat and the most spectacular boat will be awarded with trophies and gifts thanks to the sponsors. On Sunday 1st there will be free and optional navigation to later return to Santo Domingo.
