In a second meeting held in Kingston with the Prime Minister of Jamaica Andrew Holness, the Dominican delegation led by the vice minister José Julio Gómez and the ambassador to that country Angie Martínez, The main issue addressed the elimination of the visa for Dominicans to enter the Caribbean nation.

Currently, the Dominican Republic does not require a prior visa from Jamaican citizens to enter the country, but the neighboring Caribbean nation does require it from Dominican citizens.

The meeting also opened the high-level meetings promoted by the Dominican Embassy in its Dominican Republic-Jamaica Business Forum, which is celebrating its second installment.

In a press release, the Dominican Embassy explains that the agenda of these events promotes strategic dialogues that address critical issues such as the elimination of visas, the signing of an air services agreement, access to the agricultural products market, the creation of a group of parliamentary friends and bilateral cooperation in various areas, especially in the political and military spheres.
