The La Romana Bayahibe Hotel Association (AHRB) successfully concluded its XI La Romana Golf Tournament In honor to Rafael Blanco Canto, Executive Vice President of the chain Viva Resorts by Wyndham.
The tournament format featured a pair scramble, which created an exciting and competitive day for all participants. The event had a charitable purpose, since part of the funds raised went to the Solca Foundationan organization dedicated to supporting children and families in vulnerable situations in the Dominican Republic.
First place in the men’s “A” category went to Carlos Medrano and Enrique Rodríguez, with an impressive score of 63 strokes, while in the “B” category Rylcdamn Linares and Joan Ortega were proclaimed winners, with a total of 65 strokes. In the women’s category, the winners were Rhina Espaillat and Mabel Castillo, with a score of 77 strokes. The best gross score was achieved by the couple formed by Freddy Almonte and Luis Escolásico, with an excellent result of 61 strokes.
Blanco Canto said that “the XI La Romana Golf Tournament is an event that is not only an opportunity to enjoy the sport, but also highlights the importance of golf in the region and its fundamental role in Dominican tourism.”
On your side, Andres Fernandezpresident of the AHRB, expressed that “this golf tournament is not only a sporting competition, but also an opportunity to unite and celebrate together the beauty and charm of Destination La Romana.”
While, Ana García-Sotoca, Executive Director of the union, noted that “the La Romana Bayahibe Hotel Association feels very grateful and excited to see the number of golfers and sponsors who came together to make this traditional tournament possible. I also want to recognize the hard work and dedication of all the volunteers who participated in organizing the event. We hope to see you next year.”
