The Vice President of the Republic, Rachel Peñastarted this Thursday the works for the construction of the new extension of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) in the municipality of Santo Domingo Este (SDE)together with the rector Editrudis Beltrán Crisóstomo, and the minister Housing and Buildings (Mived), Carlos Bonilla.

To build the physical infrastructure, the Government will invest 1,595 million pesos. UASD-SDE It will be located on 30 de Junio ​​Avenue in the Juan Bosch City area.

This center of studies will have capacity for 4,390 students and will benefit residents in the municipality of Guerra, San Luis, Los Mina, Los Tres Brazos, Sabana Perdida, Los Frailes, Boca Chica, La Victoria, and the students of the province from Monte Plata, who will no longer have to Travel to the National District to receive education.

During the event, the vice president highlighted that this extension of the UASD joins seven others nationwide, and is a way to celebrate the growth of the high house of studies and “strengthen the commitment to the fundamental principles of accessibility, quality and community service that define it.”

About the construction site

The infrastructure will have a classroom intelligent, 14 laboratories, library, auditorium, five postgraduate classrooms, medical dispensary, children’s room, grocery store and dining room.

This center will be built on 307,997.74 square meters of land area, with 46,910.96 square meters of construction.
