More than 1,200 runners participated in the twelfth edition of Santo Domingo Runs 10Kan emblematic and successful event that unites the community around sport and health.
The participating athletes of all ages followed the route that began at the Malecón towards the 30 de Mayo Highway, returning along the same route to the Santo Domingo Obelisk.
Jilberto Santana, Jose Ramon Gratero and Wide Mayer were the winners in the men’s overall category, while in the women’s category, Soranyi Rodriguez, Viageisy Jimenez and Natasha Mendez were the winners, with cash prizes of $20,000, $15,000 and $10,000 pesos, respectively. Soranyi Rodriguez also obtained the record for the lowest time in the race.
Marlenny Peñageneral director of Santo Domingo Corre, thanked the community of runners and sponsors for their support over the past 12 years, thereby helping to continue raising awareness among citizens about the importance of practicing a sport and its health benefits.
A group of companies and institutions joined Santo Domingo Corre 10K, including Farmaconal, Generade, CDN Deportes, Banco Promerica, Cool Heaven, Hatuey, Catalonia, Milano, Ofit, Ágora Mall, Quaker, Racephoto, Pollo Cibao, Novo Recovery Capsule, Helados Dude, Bayer, GP Wellness, Café Kora, Max Sport, Grupo Blandino and Moto Sales.
