He Santiago Tourist Destination Cluster (CSDT) has expressed its strong support for the construction of a new helipad in Parque Central, highlighting infrastructure as a crucial need for the development and security of the city.
The project, managed by the Airport Departmentwill not only boost tourism in Santiago, but will also significantly improve emergency response capabilities.
Ramon Paulinopresident of the Cluster, emphasized that “the construction of the heliport is an obligation for the authorities and the business sector of Santiago. Our city, in constant growth as a tourist destination, requires infrastructure that responds to the demands of the global market and the security needs of our community and visitors.”
He stressed the importance of Cibao International Airportthe third in passenger mobility in the country, since the integration of the new heliport with the airport will strengthen the transport network, facilitating access to Santiago. Also strengthening its position on the international tourist map.
“The combination of these infrastructures will contribute to a more robust transport network and improve the city’s connectivity,” said Paulino.
The heliport will be located in the strategic Parque Central, and will offer an efficient solution for medical emergencies and crisis situations, vital aspects for a city that, despite its development, faces challenges related to its seismic vulnerability.
