The Spanish-themed restaurant, La Fuente, at the Barceló Bávaro Grand Resort has received the “Restaurants From Spain” quality certification that recognizes authentic Spanish cuisine and gives a seal of approval to restaurants that truly use the best products from Spain.

The importance of Spanish cuisine in promoting Spain as a brand is essential. The Restaurants From Spain quality seal, developed by ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones, is presented as a badge for restaurants outside Spain that provide their diners with quality Spanish cuisine, also using Spanish products. Currently, more than 300 restaurants have been certified in more than 40 countries. In Latin America and the Caribbean more than 40 restaurants have obtained the certification.

The director of the Barceló Bavaro Hotel, Mr. Javier Cordero, received the Restaurants From Spain seal from the Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Spanish Embassy in the Dominican Republic, Mrs. Clara Fernández Martín, in a presentation ceremony on Friday, May 24. Different public figures attended the event, professionals from the Dominican gastronomic sector, as well as businessmen and professionals related to Spain in the HORECA sector.

With obtaining the RWS certificate that serves as an instrument of support and recognition for restaurants, the La Fuente restaurant at the Barceló hotel becomes a Dominican ambassador of Spanish cuisine and a reference for tourists seeking the authenticity of Spanish cuisine in the Dominican Republic. . This certification is granted after a rigorous analysis developed by a committee that integrates different Spanish institutions and sector associations with a strong link to this gastronomy and also offers various benefits, such as training for chefs and wine specialists. Likewise, this seal also provides greater ease of access to new opportunities in the market, as well as the possibility of increasing the number of suppliers of Spanish products and inclusion in various promotional campaigns carried out by ICEX and the Economic and Economic Office.
