The deaths of women under conditions of violence continue to be a problem in the country. These deaths occur mainly in the intrafamilialThe perpetrators are mostly men.

Last year137 women died in conditions of violence. This figure decreased compared to the year previous (2022), when 153 incidents were recorded. However, it remains a major problem.

Deaths of women by age

On the other side of the matter, the months with less deaths of women violently were December (4.4%), October (5.8%) and August (7.3%).

Finally, the regions with more incidents of this type were Ozama (35%), Cibao Norte (12.4%) and Valdesia (10.2%). Those with the lowest percentage were Cibao Noroeste (3.6%), El Valle (3.6%) and Cibao Sur (5.1%).
