The President Luis Abinader He led the start of construction of the Hotel Hyatt Zilara in Puerto Plataas well as the public access road to the tourist project Brigantine Point.
The Punta Bergantín tourism project is a government-supported initiative that seeks to create a new tourism dynamic by turning the aforementioned attraction of the North Coast into an internationally renowned destination that attracts investments “to revive the Hotel sector in Puerto Plata, promoting comprehensive development, with cutting-edge facilities, environmental sustainability and job creation, to provide a new economic boost to the region.”
The development is part of the Government’s plans to relaunch the province’s economy by relying on tourism activity, and is being managed by a trust headed by the Reserve Bankand occupies an area of 10 million square meters with a coastline and an environmental setting of great beauty.
Punta Bergantín, strategically located 15 minutes from Puerto Plata, 12 minutes from Sosúa and 8 minutes from the Gregorio Luperon International Airportpromotes the construction of up to six five-star hotels, with an offer of 4,500 rooms, plus 1,500 vacation units, 2,500 mixed-use units; and a Marine Village.
