The third installment of the movie ‘The Princess Diaries’ is already in development and will be directed by the screenwriter, producer and director Adele Limthe magazine announced exclusively this Friday deadline.
The filmmaker will take charge of a new sequel of the popular film that saw its first installment in 2001, directed by Garry Marshall, in which Anne Hathaway she played a teenager who finds out that she is the heir to the throne of the European kingdom of Genovia by surprise and is tutored by her grandmother (Julie Andrews).
“Miracles happen. Back to Genovia with @adeleblim @disney @somewherepictures. The fairy tale continues,” Hathaway said on Instagram.
Lim will be in charge of directing that third, twenty years later after the second one was released, ‘The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement’, also known in its Spanish version as ‘The Princess Diaries’ or ‘Princess by surprise’.
Lim is especially recognized for her role as a screenwriter in the comedy romantic’Crazy Rich Asians‘ (2018) and in the animated film ‘Raya and the last dragon‘ (2021), nominated for a Golden Globe and an Oscar, respectively.
- ‘The Princess Diaries 3’ will be the second movie which he will direct after premiering with the comedy ‘Joy Ride‘ last 2023, a film that he also wrote and produced.
