Latam Airlines Peru announced that it will resume flying the Lima – Montego Bay, Jamaica route (whose certification is in the process of government approval), starting December 1. “With the reactivation of Flights to Jamaica, the group is once again advancing in its commitment to strengthen regional connectivity, this time to one of the main islands in the Caribbean that, due to its white sand, crystal-clear waters and good weather, attracts passengers from South America at any time of the year,” details the Latam statement.
The route will have three Flights a week, on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, allowing passengers from Santiago, Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Asunción, Montevideo, Córdoba and Mendoza to connect in Lima to reach Montego Bay. The Flight lasts approximately 5 hours and will be operated on A319 and A320 aircraft, with capacity for 138 and 174 passengers, respectively.
“The resumption of Flights to Jamaica from Lima allows us to bring the Caribbean offer closer to South American passengers, strengthening the important role of the Lima hub, from where South American travelers can reach other destinations such as Cancun, Punta Cana, Aruba, San Jose and Havana,” said Manuel van Oordt, CEO of LATAM Airlines Peru.
This announcement is in addition to the reactivation of routes in Chile and Brazil, such as Santiago – Melbourne (operational from September 2023), Santiago – Brasilia (from June 1, 2024), Santiago-Orlando (from June 16, 2024) and Santiago – Sydney, which will begin operations next October. as reported REPORTUR.com.
