President Luis Abinader signed this Sunday the decree 560-24 with which he deposed Venancio Alcántara Valdezfrom the General Directorate of Migration and appointed Vice Admiral Luis Rafael Lee Ballester, of the Navy.
Lee Ballester is currently director general of the Armed Forces Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cybersecurity and Intelligence Center C5i.
Alcántara Valdez had been in office for two years. He replaced Enrique García in August 2022.
The presidential provision of this Sunday, September 29, 2024 that names Lee Ballester “general director of the General Directorate of Migration“Does not mention Alcántara Valdez anywhere, so it is unknown whether he will be appointed to another government institution.
