The head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur), Miguel Torruco, led a working meeting with presidents and representatives of the main chambers and associations of the sector, where the progress of the work plan for Mexico’s presence at Fitur 2025 was presented, in coordination with the company Euroamerica Group.
Torruco stressed that Mexico’s success as a Partner Country in Fitur 2025 will be thanks to the great strength and connection with the Secretaries of Tourism, headed by the president of Asetur, Juan Enrique Suárez, with whom we have worked hand in hand to consolidate this presence, which will be a trigger for international tourism to Mexico due to the great projection that Fitur represents in the tourist market of Spain and Europe. He affirmed that this will allow to continue promoting the arrival of international tourists, the tourist activity towards the 270 places with vocation and therefore the economic spillover.
During the current administration, Mexico has had an outstanding participation in Fitur since, in 2023, for the first time it had the largest pavilion in America, and the same was achieved in 2024, with an area of more than a thousand square meters.
Torruco highlighted some joint actions between the three levels of government and the private sector, and pointed out that this will happen at Fitur 2025, as a great opportunity for Mexico to present its tourist, cultural, heritage and gastronomic wealth of the 32 entities.
For his part, Suárez said that, for the first time, Mexico will be a partner country at Fitur, according to information from Ifema, with whom we are working closely so that this presence makes a difference and the entire tourist offer of Mexico is presented, both that which is already consolidated and that which is less known.
As reported by REPORTUR.mxin February it was said that Mexico’s participation as a partner country in the International Tourism Fair (Fitur) 2025 would cost around 1 million euros, said Juan Enrique Suárez del Real Tostado, president of the Union of Tourism Secretaries (Asetur) at the time, and the association has already paid a deposit of 100 thousand euros. (Mexico pays an advance of one million euros to be a partner of Fitur 2025).
