Authorities expect Hurricane Beryl to remain in Mexico until Sunday, when it will make a second impact on Mexican territory after passing through the Gulf of Mexico.
It is expected to reach the Gulf of Mexico as a possible tropical storm by early Saturday, July 6, where it will remain. And on Sunday, July 7, there is a possibility that it will impact Mexican territory as a hurricane in the north-central state of Tamaulipas, according to El Financiero.
As cyclone “Beryl”, it will impact with probability of “intense to torrential rains in Quintana Roo, Yucatan, Campeche, Tabasco, Veracruz, Tamaulipas, Nuevo Leon and San Luis Potosi, as well as very strong to intense gusts of wind,” as reported by the same media.
As reported by REPORTUR.mxHurricane Beryl was downgraded to Category 2 before making landfall in Quintana Roo, however, at around 6:05 (local time) it made landfall this Friday on the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, specifically northeast of Tulum, according to data from the NOAA National Hurricane Center. Strong gusts of wind and rain began on Thursday night. In Cozumel, the streets have suffered from gusts of wind, with a storm that displaces objects. In Puerto Morelos, Beryl’s presence has been felt with intense rain since before 2 am, gusts of wind strongly impacting buildings.
