General José Luis Frómeta Herasme, mayor of the Fire brigade of the National District, specified that this Monday alone around 12 trees were cut in Güaley, Evaristo Morales, Arroyo Hondo, Zona Colonial, Los Ríos and Gazcue.
The owner of the Firefighters of the DN, He indicated that added to those that were intervened yesterday, they total about 30 trees.
The preventive decision to close the parks and squares was made by the city council in line with the level of alert in which the Emergency Operations Center (COE) has placed the National District and a large part of the country, following the incidence of two atmospheric phenomena.
The safety measure seeks to prevent situations that may affect citizens in the parks. Furthermore, it would facilitate the work of cleaning that merit these spaces.
Brigades of the council have continued to carry out gutter and cleaning of filters, to prevent the occurrence floods product of the strong rains that have fallen in the different sectors.
Call to citizens
The council called on the residents of the capital not to take out the garbage bags on the sidewalks and in front of the homes, to prevent them from being dragged by the rainsclogging the filters and causing flooding.
