The Maya Train will open the Hotel in Tulum on September 7 with 352 rooms, as part of the megaproject that includes five other hotels. Andrés Núñez, head of the Maya Train Operations Coordination Center, said that the Hotel is 72% complete.

The Hotel will be inaugurated together with section 5. “The Tulum Hotel project has generated 3,112 jobs so far, and will be opening soon as work is already underway on finishing the rooms, equipping them, adapting green areas and lighting,” said Núnez.

The project is located less than three kilometers from the Tulum Maya Train station and will be connected to the archaeological zone. The other hotels will be located in Palenque, Calakmul, Chichén Itzá, Uxmal and Edzná, according to Sipse.

How do I report it? REPORTUR.mxthe president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), pointed out in his morning press conference this Monday that section 5 of the Maya Train has cost them a lot of work to build due to the protests of those he calls “pseudo-environmentalists,” who have done it in this government and not in previous ones when “hotels and underwater rivers were built, like Xel Há or Xcaret,” he said. (Maya Train: AMLO’s complaint about protests in section 5 and not when Xcaret was built).

“It has cost us work, a lot of work, it is a relatively short stretch, however, we have taken care of cenotes, underwater rivers, underground rivers and caves. And we have had there, as it is the most important tourist area, there have been many protests by pseudo-environmentalists,” AMLO said at the time.
