Latam has suspended the route that began in Santiago de Chile with a stopover in Bogotá to connect with Madrid. These Flights were scheduled to be operated until December, according to Cirium data.

The route was available in the airline’s sales channels since December 2, so the suspension affects passengers who had already purchased their tickets. However, Latam has made available information on refunds, itinerary changes and alternative Flight options, as collected by Aviación Club Center.

The route would use a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner for 247 passengers in three classes: Business, Premium Economy and Economy. It would operate at night from Bogotá to Madrid, leaving at 10:50 pm and from Madrid to Bogotá at 5:25 pm, arriving in Bogotá at 8:24 pm.

As reported REPORTUR.co, the airline will begin to cover this route from next July 4, with a direct Flight in each direction. It will be the first European destination that it will offer with its Colombian subsidiary, with which it intends to compete head-on with Avianca. (Latam stands up to Avianca with a big discount on the Bogotá-Madrid Flight).

Latam serves routes to Santiago, Lima and Sao Paulo from the Spanish capital, in all three cases with different subsidiaries of the same group. Latam has a subsidiary in Peru that operates autonomously, as will now happen with the Colombian branch.
