Santo Domingo.- The Directorate of the Emergency Operations Center (COE) reported that weather conditions will remain under the influence of a trough located at various levels of the troposphere, generating a favorable environment for moderate to heavy downpours to persist, sometimes with thunderstorms. and occasional gusts of wind, keeping the number of provinces on alert at 21.

The emergency center detailed that, in the northwest, north, northeast, southeast, Cordillera Central regions and some points in the border area, province such as: Puerto Plata, Dajabón, Valverde, Espaillat, Hermanas Mirabal, María Trinidad Sánchez, Samaná, Duarte , Santiago Rodríguez, Monte Cristi, Santiago and La Vega, gradually decreasing in intensity and frequency during the night and early morning.

The COE maintains the alert level for possible flooding of rivers, streams and ravines, as well as sudden or urban floods. In addition, people should refrain from crossing tributaries that have high volumes of water and not use spas in the province under alera.

Likewise, the green alert level is discontinued for the provinces of: Barahona, Pedernales, Independencia, Bahoruco, Peravia and San Cristóbal.
