With fifty works delivered and an investment of around RD$25 billion in construction and rehabilitation of water and sanitation systems, the director of the National Institute of Potable Water and Sewers (INAPA) says that this management has improved the quality of life of more than two million Dominicans.
Specifically, in the administration of Wellington ArnaudIn this four-year period, nearly three thousand kilometers of pipelines have been installed, according to El Caribe.
Arnaud, emphasizing the works that impact tourism development, mentioned two relevant projects that are about to be inaugurated. One of them is the construction of the aqueduct Cabo Rojo-Pedernales.
According to Arnaud’s explanations, another that is almost ready for delivery is the expansion of the aqueduct of Miches, in El Seiboonce they resolve some details in the regulating tank reservoir.
“I like to explain in this way what we have snuck into kilometers of pipes… the return to the entire coast of the Dominican Republic It is 1,500 kilometers long, and in these four years we have installed 1.7 kilometers of pipelines per day, which is equivalent to almost twice the entire national territory,” he said.
Speaking as coordinator of the Water Cabinet, he stated that during this government administration, the total amount invested, including the investment of the various water and sewer corporations, averages more than 22 billion pesos each year.
This overall investment, viewed individually, is close to $35 per person, a figure that is increasingly close to what developed countries invest in water issues, which is $40 per capita.
“This explains how the president Luis Abinader “He has placed the issue of drinking water and sanitation as a fundamental axis, as a priority in the administration of his Government,” Arnaud stressed.
As a result of this investment, he mentioned the rehabilitation of the Guanuma-Los Botados water treatment plant, Monte Plataas part of the short-term plan for this province. “This was a project that was left half-finished and the citizens of Monte Plata required quality water,” he added.
The project is complemented by the construction of the Guanuma-Los Botados multiple aqueduct. “We have impacted all regions of the country,” said the official with notable enthusiasm.
The expansions to the multiple aqueduct are added to the list of works delivered Peravia, and the Sabana Iglesia-Baitoa-Taveras system, in Santiago. Also, the enabling of the Quisqueya Aqueduct, in Saint Peter of Macoris.
This administration has delivered eleven important drinking water systems to the population in the provinces of Monte Plata, Hato Mayor, Bahoruco, Independencia, San Pedro de Macorís, Dajabón, San Cristóbal, Peravia and Duarte. According to Arnaud, these supply services have impacted more than 2 million Dominicans who for years had no service or received it in a precarious manner.
Among the projects underway, the head of Inapa emphasized the expansion of the Monción-Sabaneta Multiple Municipal Aqueduct in Santiago Rodríguez, with an investment of over one billion pesos to benefit more than 14 communities.
“The Los Quemados pipeline is already in place and soon that municipality will have an efficient aqueduct, which it does not have,” he said.
