The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) removed the so-called “Significant Operational Safety Concern” from Mexican aviation, after complying 100 percent with said observation in the audit carried out on the Federal Civil Aviation Agency ( AFAC) of Mexico.
This was reported by this body attached to the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT), after explaining that the measure in question was resolved one month before the end date imposed by the ICAO, which has a limit of December 8. July 2024.
Last month, the verification program that covers the review and calibration of 95 Radio Aids in 74 stations, regarding the task of monitoring air navigation services in Mexican airspace, concluded.
In this process, Navigation Services in the Mexican Air Space (SENEAM) carried out periodic measurements and statistics that confirm that the Radio Navigation Aids systems are within the tolerances at the different airports.
This action provides operational certainty in Mexican airspace, highlighting that no complaints have been generated from end users regarding course deviations or marking errors in the systems.
