The Third Collegiate Court postponed to June 10 the preliminary hearing of the accused Jairo González, president of the company Harvest Groups & Asociados, accused by the Public Ministry of defrauding some 162 people out of some 100 million dollars.
About the case
The Public Ministry began the investigations in mid-January 2023, after more than 30 people filed a complaint against González, alleging that they had been victims of a scam of more than 100 million dollars.
The investigating body maintains that the accused, as manager and owner of Havest Trading, raised funds from investors whom he promised would be invested in the stock market and in cryptocurrencies, with the promise that they would obtain a profit of over 8 % of deposited resources.
Among the crimes that the Public Ministry accuses González of, are the violation of articles 265, 266 and 405 of the Dominican Penal Code, which refers to the association of criminals and fraud, as well as violation of article 351, numeral IV of Law 249-17, on the Securities Market, which sanctions the operations of stock exchange positions without authorization from the regulatory body.
