Santo Domingo, RD.- The Dominican Government is preparing for a period of intense activity and structural reforms, designed to promote the comprehensive development of the Dominican Republic, the Minister of the Presidency, Joel Santos Echavarría, reported this Wednesday.
“These reforms are vital to sustain economic growth, promote formal jobs and raise the quality of life of our population,” stressed Santos Echavarría when interviewed on the program “El Día”, which is broadcast on Telesistema 11.
He specified that the Government will resume the inaugurations in the coming days and that it will continue with the execution of infrastructure works related to road projects, ports, hospitals, schools, and that it will continue to promote the development of the tourism sector, free zone, urban mobility and transformation digital in the public and private sphere.
He also reiterated his commitment to continue listening to civil society and minorities, maintaining an open stance to constructive criticism and adapting as required.
He assured that the Government will continue to guarantee territorial integrity, with important investments in the border area.
«We will focus on leaving a significant legacy and continuing with economic and social development projects. “Our management is firmly committed to making decisions that strengthen the institutions and well-being of the country, even when they are not politically convenient,” he added.
About the electoral process
Minister Joel Santos Echavarría also highlighted the Government’s effort and commitment to avoid the misuse of public resources during the electoral campaign.
For these purposes, he mentioned that President Luis Abinader convened several government councils to discuss this issue, emphasizing maintaining the integrity of the process.
In addition, the official praised the progress of the Central Electoral Board (JCE) in the transparency and speed of the results of these past elections, as well as the maturity of the population during the process.
