Venezuela is once again experiencing a political crisis following the elections of July 28, the result of which – which ratified the victory of Nicolas Maduro– is accused of being fraudulent by the majority opposition.
Twelve days after the elections, the CNE has not published the minutes certifying Maduro’s victory, as required by law, and has left the process of “certifying” the official result in the hands of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), at the request of the president.
The Venezuelan crisis threatens to trigger the largest wave of migration in the region’s history.
