While Aerolíneas Argentinas remains in the hands of the national government and operates most of the domestic routes, Flybondi decided to start flying between Buenos Aires and San Juan. In this way, the low-cost airline continues with its growth plan and enters a province that has had only one air service for more than 6 years.

The route will connect San Juan with Buenos Aires and will begin flying on September 2nd and will have 4 weekly frequencies on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Tickets are already on sale on the airline’s website from a promotional price of $25,999 final per leg. It will depart from Buenos Aires at 1:00 p.m. landing at its destination at 3:15 p.m. while from San Juan it will take off at 3:45 p.m. arriving in the city of Buenos Aires at 5:25 p.m.

“Expanding the national connectivity network is one of Flybondi’s main objectives. Reaching San Juan reaffirms and materializes a project that we have been working on for some time together with the provincial authorities. We are arriving as a new Travel option: accessible, safe and convenient,” said Mauricio Sana, CEO of Flybondi, adding: “With our start of operations, we aim to increase the number of passengers visiting the province by approximately 40%, which translates into a very clear and tangible contribution to the tourist and economic development of the region.”

San Juan is the 15th province in the low-cost network, which with this addition already connects 63% of the country’s provinces. It is the airline’s 26th route and its 19th national destination. It also recently expanded its connectivity network, adding the Ushuaia-El Calafate interprovincial route, as reported by REPORTUR.com.
