This Thursday the 49th edition of the Faevyt Travel Agents Congress began in the city of Puerto Madryn, province of Chubut. With more than 1,100 Travel agents registered, the annual meeting of the sector proposes tools and debates to face the future. Andrés Deyá, president of Faevyt, began his speech at the opening ceremony by reinforcing the motto of the congress: «We are here to overcome the challenges together with Travel agents, who are the protagonists of the event and tourist activity. In this new stage of changes we never doubt our ability to work and our fundamental role.”

«We went through government changes together, new paradigms and beliefs regarding the role of Travel agencies. The structure of our work was shaken,” said Deyá; and assured: “We will once again put on the agenda the search for solutions to double taxation and accumulation of balances in favor of Travel agencies, because we are convinced that they are more productive if they are invested to enhance the growth of the agencies.” .

Finally, the president of Faevyt highlighted the relevance of RNAV: “Today we have a debureaucratized, easy and accessible Registry that has added more than 400 new agencies since its launch.”

Also present at the opening ceremony were Daniel Scioli, Secretary of Tourism, Environment and Sports of the Nation; Yanina Martínez, the undersecretary of Tourism; Ignacio Torres, governor of Chubut; and Gustavo Sastre, mayor of Puerto Madryn.

For her part, Yanina Martínez highlighted that tourism generates the revitalization of local economies, generating roots so that people can work in their cities of origin and the retention of young talent.

Meanwhile, Scioli highlighted: “The deregulation of aeronautical activity that allows greater connectivity for tourists to arrive and also those who Travel to visit their families”; He also announced that “a significant discount on port taxes is coming for cruises that arrive at different ports in the country.”

Finally, Torres highlighted the provincial law, which creates the Promotion Program for Tourism Investment in the Province, sparked interest in 5 international Hotel chains that want to establish themselves in the province near the mountain range.
