Members of the National Police assigned to the Eastern Regional Investigation Subdirectorate (Dicrim) arrested three men involved in robberies with firearms in different events that occurred in La Romana.
One of those arrested is Andy Gabriel Mercedes, accused of breaking into a law office and stealing a significant amount of wire. At the time of his arrest he did not have an identification card and confessed to the crime, indicating that he sold the wire as copper.
Joel Bernard Pache, alias Difrazo, 44, was identified as the author of the theft of a considerable sum of money, both in local currency and dollars, from a courier on August 14, 2020, in the Villa San Carlos sector. .
In addition, he is accused of participating in the armed robbery of a telephone store on Duarte Street, from which he stole cash on November 17, 2021.
The third detained by Dicrim officers is Eddy Manuel Hernández Suárez, alias “Papito”, 30 years old, accused of intercepting a citizen in the Villa Pereyra sector, and stripping him of his mobile phone and cash.
Those arrested will be handed over to the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal purposes.
