AHETSA President expects the Government to speed up the work

Juan Bancalaripresident of the Association of Hotels and Tourism Companies of Samaná (AHETSA), demanded from the relevant authorities the completion of the construction work on the entrance to Samanasince this work still remains unfinished and this affects tourism in the province.
“We are very concerned about the entry into Samaná, it has been years since we started moving forward or backward,” he said.
He said that in Santa Bárbara de Samaná the work on the boardwalk is going well (only a few delays due to weather conditions) but what the tourism entity is really concerned about is the remodeling of the entrance to the municipality, according to the local press.
The work, carried out by the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), has had an intervention of 3.3 kilometers, from the municipal district of El Limón to reach the main municipality of the province.
It is recalled that in the Government’s accountability last February 2024, the president Luis Abinadermentioned the construction of 278 global works in progress for an amount greater than RD$80,000 million and among them the reconstruction was detailed Samana – La Galera Highway.
