The DICRIM department in Bávaro attempted to arrest a known criminal, who upon seeing the patrol started shooting at the authorities, which led to an exchange of gunfire that resulted in the death of the criminal.

Friusa, Bávaro; A well-known criminal died last weekend afternoon in an exchange of gunfire that occurred in the aforementioned Hoyo de Friusa in Bávaro.
The deceased was identified by his nickname as MONTECLA, he did not carry documents, and was actively sought for having arrest warrants No. 02646-2024 and 02861-2024 against him, for the robberies perpetrated to the companies BEPENSA (COCA-COLA) and BELLAMARE respectively, wounding with a firearm in the latter incident the named MANUEL MONTAS BELTRÉ, both companies located in this tourist Municipal District Verón-Punta Cana.
MONTECLA, upon noticing the presence of the DICRIM agents, pulled out a pistol-type firearm, with which he fired several shots, forcing the agents to repel the attack, dying on the spot.
At the scene of the crime, a Taurus brand pistol, model PT-809, caliber 9mm, serial no. TGP59371, black in color, with a magazine and 02 capsules for it was seized. In addition, a shell casing was collected at the scene, which was fired by the now deceased.
