The sports program Creating Olympic Dreams (Croesus) and the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) announced the creation in the city of Paris of a space they have called “The Dominican House”, which will serve as a meeting and celebration place for the country’s athletes.

It is an apartment that consists of about 300 square meters, which is located next to the Arc de Triomphe, in the center of the City of Light, which will be connected to all the venues of the Games events and the Olympic Village. The objective is for it to be a meeting and recreation place for Dominican athletes.

Felipe Vicinipresident of Creso, indicated that La Casa Dominicana is the result of having seen how in previous Olympic Games some countries had a meeting point for their athletes and that it served especially to celebrate the triumphs of a delegation.

“We thanked Mitur for being our allies in this. I have always said that athletes are our best ambassadors, and that is why this Dominican House exists for them and by them,” he said.

He said the space will serve to showcase the country’s Olympic history.

Vicini thanked the sponsors of the initiative: Popular Bank, Universal Insurance, Inicia Group, Puntacana Groupin addition to highlighting the support of the Dominican Embassy in France and the Dominican Olympic Committee.

Also, he highlighted the importance of athletes having a place outside the village to feel calm, be able to bounce back, and celebrate the medals they can win, in a space that is like the country’s embassy.

While, Tammy ReynosoDeputy Minister of Tourism Development, stressed that “this is an opportunity to show the world that we are more than just sun and beach, at the Dominican House there will also be displays of gastronomy and our folkloric side.”

Meanwhile, Manuel Luna, executive director of Creso, explained that in La Casa Dominicana you can see all the disciplines where the Duartian athletes will compete in the Games on different screens.
