From July 18 to 22, Cozumel will celebrate the 1st edition of Cozumel Vivo Fest, a festival of sea, origin and life that aims to energize tourism, reconnect with nature and preserve the rich cultural and natural heritage of the island.
Cozumel Vivo Fest is promoted by the Cozumel Hotel Association, Hotel B, GaiaLab and Parley for the Oceans. The festival will host local and international artists and facilitators; to Mexican teachers and grandparents who will share with the public their wisdom, tools and actions towards reconnection with nature through music, art and movement.
Activities will be developed focused on four main axes: Art and culture, Nature and sustainability, Children and Well-being and sports, thus providing a broad panorama of activities to satisfy the needs of all audiences. The festival was born to stay in order to contribute to turning this small island in the Mexican Caribbean into an example to boost the care of the planet and humanity.
As part of the activities prior to the days of the festival, on July 18 the 1st Forum of the Cozumel Island Biosphere Reserve will be held, which aims to generate a space to promote dialogue and reflection towards best practices sustainable, as well as the visibility of those actions that are already implemented on the island.
The festival will begin on Friday, July 19 at Parque Benito Juárez, with workshops and activities for the whole family on caring for the oceans and redesigning and converting waste into art, taught by Parley for the Oceans, in collaboration with Roth Architecture.
As reported REPORTUR.mx, Isla Mujeres and Cozumel are two of the most visited islands in the country and that is due to their natural beauties and the numerous tourist attractions they have, however, Hotel occupancy levels generally remain below expectations.
