Maritime authorities are searching in Yucatan waters for a man who fell into the sea from a cruise ship that had left Cozumel and was heading to Texas. According to witnesses, apparently at 2:30 a.m. this Friday the passenger was on the deck of the Carnival Dream, and suddenly ended up in the water during the crossing from Cozumel to Galveston.
Maritime authorities reported the case and asked for the support of the maritime and fishing community to be alert and report the body to the port authorities if they find it. It is known that the cruise ship set sail from Cozumel last Thursday at four in the afternoon, and the incident occurred in the waters of the Mexican Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico.
José Antonio Solano, head of the regional captaincy, notified the entire maritime and port community that the maritime authority based in Progreso received a report from the Panamanian-flagged cruise ship Carnival Dream about the disappearance of one of its passengers. It could be a potential man overboard maritime incident, which is pending confirmation. The incident reportedly occurred 81.9 nautical miles northeast of RÃo Lagartos, a coastal town located north of the Yucatán Peninsula.
