The authorities reported this Monday that Colonel Ángel Antonio Bautista Piña, who was detained in the Special Operations police camp, died after suffering a heart attack.
Bautista Piña was detained for being accused of having had relations with a minor, and a video of the incident circulated on social networks.
The Fourth Chamber of the Criminal Chamber of the National District had sentenced Bautista Piña to five years in prison on February 2, 2021.
The officer previously served as commander in Salcedo. This incident, in which he was accused, also involved other high-ranking officers of the institution.
Authorities are continuing proceedings related to his death and the legal implications of his previous case.
