The new direct Flight from Shenzhen, China, to Mexico City, operated by China Southern Airlines starting May 11 with two weekly frequencies on an Airbus A350, offers opportunities for Mexican hoteliers to attract high-net-worth travelers from Shenzhen, a city with more than 20 million inhabitants, many of whom are professionals in the technology industry and other sectors.
This is stated by the Shenzhen-based Travel agency DidaTravel, which considers Mexico a key destination and has recorded a notable growth of 219% in the total value of transactions so far this year. This underlines the immense potential that exists for Mexican hospitality to access the lucrative Chinese market.
“We are already receiving numerous inquiries from our B2B customers in China about this new route,” says Nicky Ussamarn, commercial director of DidaTravel. “Chinese travelers are known for their high spending, making them a valuable market for Mexican hoteliers. Now is the time for hoteliers to act and gain their attention before others do, taking advantage of the first-mover advantage.”
To successfully attract Chinese travelers, DidaTravel makes several recommendations to Mexican hoteliers: “Attracting this type of travelers is not only about having a Chinese-speaking employee or a website in Chinese; Much more needs to be done,” explains Nicky.
