President Luis Abinader He announced, through his WhatsApp channel and social media, several new appointments to his cabinet and other important designations, in preparation for his second presidential term, which will begin on August 16.
In the aviation sector, the president made the following moves: Hector Porcellawill be the new president of the Civil Aviation Board (JAC) replacing Jose Marte Piantini, who becomes Consul General of the Dominican Republic in Madrid, Kingdom of Spain.
While, Igor Rodriguez He was appointed as the director of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC). The position was held by Porcella.
Rodríguez served as Administrative Minister of the Presidency on an interim basis since January 17, 2024, replacing Jose Ignacio Palizawho took a leave of absence to be able to dedicate himself to proselytizing work during the last presidential campaign.
A statement from the Presidency describes Rodríguez as a person with a “strong background and experience in engineering and public management.” It also notes that he has more than 15 years of political experience.
