The Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation (CBPC) approved a date swap agreement on Tuesday to set up the Caribbean Series that the leagues of Puerto Rico and Venezuelawhich modified the organization calendar to the popular championship of champions.
The CBPC reported that the agreement was authorized by the other two leagues that are permanent members of the confederation, those of Mexico and Dominican Republicand endorsed by Mr. Juan Francisco Puello Herrera, commissioner of Caribbean baseball.
“The Commissioner gave his positive approval to the agreement, as did Mr. Vitelio Mejía and Engineer Carlos Manrique, representing the other members of the CBPC, the Professional Baseball League of the Dominican Republic (LIDOM) and the Mexican Pacific Arc League (LAMP)respectively,” said Ramón Ruíz, director of operations of the Caribbean Confederation.
“In both cases their responses are based on emails, which is totally valid, as the statutes state,” added Ruíz.
After the agreement, the next venues for the Caribbean classic will be like this: Mexicali, Mexico (2025); Caracas and/or some other cities in Venezuela (2026); Hermosillo, Mexico (2027); Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (2028) and San Juan, Puerto Rico (2029).
