The Governor of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama, and the leaders of all security and protection corporations gave the green light to the 2024 summer vacation security operation, in order to provide protection and security to the people of Quintana Roo and the almost 2 million tourists who are estimated to arrive in Quintana Roo this vacation season.
With this operation, in which 6,215 state and municipal citizen security elements are deployed throughout the 11 municipalities of Quintana Roo, including 111 tourist police agents, the state governor declared that Quintana Roo destinations are ready to receive families and visitors who will arrive by air, sea and land to Quintana Roo.
Before raising the flag on the Tajamar boardwalk, Lezama explained that the objective is to guarantee public order, security in a preventive manner on the roads with inspection filters, permanent monitoring through C5 cameras, presence of the elements on beaches and tourist spots.
The governor was accompanied by the heads of police corporations, the heads of the powers and autonomous bodies related to citizen security and the administration and delivery of justice, the federal armed forces, civil protection, firefighters, the state health department, the Red Cross and the Green Angels.
It was learned that the municipal security departments will have an operational deployment in the different recreational areas of 1,735 police officers, 305 units, 114 motorcycle patrols, 10 razers and 6 ATVs. Drone Flights will be throughout the state.
For its part, the rural police will have a deployment of 86 elements and 27 units to execute planned strategies in rural tourist areas, with patrols on foot, on land, and tours in order to prevent any activity that affects peace.
