Avianca will be the first airline in South America to fly to Tulum

Avianca has requested authorization from the Civil Aeronautics to add two new national destinations to Arauca and Quibdó, and two international ones, one of them from Bogotá to the Tulum airport, becoming the first airline in South America to fly to the Mexican destination. In addition, it requested to operate Flights between the Rionegro airport that serves Medellín to San Salvador, El Salvador.

The route between Bogotá and Tulum, Mexico will have up to 7 weekly Flights on A319, A320 and A320neo aircraft. As for international Flights to El Salvador and Mexico, Avianca plans to operate between Medellín and San Salvador, with up to seven weekly Flights on A319, A320 and A320neo aircraft.

Avianca has also added two new destinations in Colombia, from Bogotá’s El Dorado International Airport, to Arauca and Quibdó, both of which will be code-shared with the airline CLIC!, according to Aviacionline.

The airline will offer a daily Flight with A319, A320 and A320neo aircraft, but warned that the El Caraño Airport in Quibdó must have arrangements for the landing of an A320.

As reported by REPORTUR.coAvianca recently announced changes to its boarding policy for Flights abroad, in line with the immigration requirements of each country. To do so, passengers must purchase tickets at least 24 hours before the Flight, otherwise they will not be allowed to board. (Avianca prohibits the purchase of tickets in the 24 hours prior to the Flight).

Passengers must also have a valid immigration status for the destination country that exempts them from purchasing a return ticket. They must also present a valid passport and comply with the specific entry requirements for the destination country, such as visas, medical insurance or vaccination cards.
