Agents of the National Directorate of Drug Control (DNCD) and members of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, supported by the Preventive Police and the Rapid Action Group, carried out 70 operations and raids in the municipality of San Francisco de Macorís, Duarte province, where they arrested 23 people and confiscated 10,572 grams of various drugs, weapons, cash and other evidence.

During joint operations against micro-trafficking of narcotic substances, authorities seized 7,047 grams of cocaine, 2,693 grams of marijuana and 832 grams of cocaine, a firearm (Mini Uzi type), with its magazine, a homemade weapon, several capsules, three cell phones, RD$7,840 pesos in cash, among other evidence.

The operations were concentrated in the following neighborhoods: San Martin de Porres (Rabo de Chivo), La Castellana, Los Rieles, Rivera del Jaya, Agua Rubia, La Colchonera, Los Ingenieros, (La Pampara), Las Colinas, San Pedro, Hermanas Mirabal, San Vicente de Paul, among others.

“Drug micro-trafficking continues to receive hard blows throughout the national territory, managing to remove from the streets during 2024, almost seven million grams of cocaine, heroin, marijuana, crack, ecstasy and other narcotic substances.

Interdiction operations against micro-drug trafficking have been intensified throughout the country as part of new strategies to combat and stop the trafficking of controlled substances.

The detainees and the evidence were handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Duarte province for the corresponding purposes.
