The Navy of the Dominican Republic (ARD) reported this Wednesday that in the early hours of the morning it deployed a maritime, land and air operation of search and rescue in the Boba beach area in the María Trinidad Sánchez province, in response to the disappearance of a fisherman in the area.
Cándido Javier Polanco is the name of the fisherman. He has been missing since yesterday, Tuesday.
“This mission is carried out jointly with the Air Force of the Dominican Republic (FARD)”, the entity said in a press release.
He said the deployment includes a coastguard and two boats reaction of the Navywhich, along with two FARD aircraft, are carrying out overflights in the area of search. This support air, sea and land allows us to cover a greater area and reinforces the possibilities of success in the location of the missing person.
This joint effort reaffirms the commitment of the Navy and of the institutions participants in the protection of human lives at sea, as well as their willingness to respond in an agile and coordinated manner to any emergency on the coastal and maritime coastline.
The institution said it will continue to provide updates about the progress of the operation and appreciates the collaboration of the local community, especially the fishermen, in offering any information that may be useful to the rescue.
