The Mexican government has invested at least USD 11 billion in Quintana Roo to give back “some of the much it has done for the country,” according to President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

“We are helping Quintana Roo a lot, we are giving back what it has given to the country. Many investments are being made. I believe that in the government that I lead we can talk about an investment in Quintana Roo close to 200 billion pesos,” said AMLO.

He explained that the Maya Train alone, which covers some 700 kilometers in Quintana Roo, must cost 150 billion pesos, plus the hotels, all the infrastructure works, the Tulum airport, the recovery of archaeological sites and roads.

“Quintana Roo has been very supportive… and it was just a matter of taking it out and taking it out. There are almost 600 daily operations just from the Cancun airport, so they do contribute a lot,” said López Obrador. He also highlighted the role of the Navy in the fight against sargassum.

As reported by REPORTUR.mxAMLO has boasted about the investment in tourism that his government has made, unlike previous ones. He has highlighted the work on the Mayan Train, the Tulum airport and the rescue of archaeological sites. (AMLO boasts about Tulum, the Mayan Train, vestiges and less sargassum).
