President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) boasts about the tourism investment that his government has made, unlike previous ones. He highlighted the work on the Mayan Train, the Tulum airport, and the rescue of archaeological sites.

AMLO pointed out that the Federal Government during its six years in office made an investment of more than USD 11 billion in the state. “The Maya Train is 700 kilometers in Quintana Roo, it is about 150 billion pesos, plus hotels, all the infrastructure work, the Tulum airport, everything that has meant the rescue of the archaeological sites, roads, among other investments,” said the president during the morning conference, as reported by Noticaribe.

He also highlighted the work on the Tulum airport with an investment of USD 1.1 billion, saying that in previous governments “that was not done, it was just taking away and taking away the resource from Quintana Roo. Nearly 300 planes arrive, there are almost 600 daily operations, just from the Cancun airport, they do contribute a lot,” said AMLO.

He also referred to the management of sargassum. “We have been in charge of solving the sargassum problem, with the Navy, we will continue to help in that,” AMLO said.

As reported by REPORTUR.mxafter 205 days since its inauguration, the Maya Train has transported 246,926 passengers, reported General Oscar Lozano, general director of this project, which is in charge of the Ministry of National Defense (Sedena). (The Maya Train already has 17 four-car trains).
