Aeromexico, the only Latin American airline to fly directly to South Korea

Aeroméxico becomes the only airline in Latin America to connect with Seoul, South Korea, by resuming its Flights from Mexico City with a stopover in Monterrey from August.

The Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that direct air connectivity between Mexico and Korea “contributes to strengthening political, tourist, economic and cultural ties with this friendly country and strategic partner.”

From Seoul, the route will be direct to Mexico City. The airline will offer 12,000 seats available per month. Aeromexico suspended the route in 2022 due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, for which Russia imposed restrictions on airspace and the Mexico-Korea route requires flying over Russian territory and the condition requires complying with extended Flight schedules and crew services.

The Secretary of Tourism of Nuevo Leon, Maricarmen Martinez, highlighted at the time the importance of this connection for the strengthening of the Monterrey airport as a global hub.
