Santo Domingo.- The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, will visit Leonel Fernández and Abel Martínez tonight.
The information was shared by the spokesperson for the Presidency, Homero Figueroa, who indicated that the meeting with Fernández will take place at 8:00 p.m., at the headquarters of the Global and Development Foundation (Funglode) and later, at 9:00 p.m. :00 pm, you will meet Abel Martínez, at the National House of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD).
The Presidency spokesperson highlighted that these meetings aim to ensure the unity and collaboration necessary for the development and well-being of the Dominican Republic prevail, beyond political differences.
He recalled that, in his speech celebrating the victory, President Abinader highlighted the importance of inclusion and collaboration between all sectors of the country, pointing out that “in democracy, no one wins or loses everything. The time that begins today needs us all united, those who have won and also those who have not; each one from their place and with their way of seeing things, to serve the people. In this country there is no one left over. We are all necessary.”
Likewise, he said, the president reaffirmed his commitment to national unity, emphasizing that “above the political differences between the parties is the Dominican Republic. I have the conviction that there is much more that unites us than what separates us, and today I reaffirm it.”
He also said that President Abinader called for immediate action and joint collaboration, when he expressed that “we must not waste a minute: I call on all of you starting tomorrow, to continue building that country that we deserve, that Republic. Dominican Republic that awaits us and that wants to show itself to the whole world: Cheerful, hospitable, productive, thriving, competitive and above all, democratic, honest and prosperous.»
Homero Figueroa said that the meetings between President Luis Abinader, former President Leonel Fernández, and Abel Martínez represent a significant step towards the consolidation of a spirit of collaboration and mutual respect, essential for the progress and stability of the country.
