He president Luis Abinader inaugurated this Thursday a new building for the Military Police of the Army of the Dominican Republic and other small works within the Military camp August 16, in Pedro Brand.
These five infrastructures have a total construction area of 6,425.42 square meters and were built with an investment of 311 million pesos over a period of 10 months.
The two-story structure will house the First Battalion of that unit and his school training facility. It has dormitories for 500 soldiers, dining halls and a Virtual Tactical Entertainment Center.
Another of the works delivered was a deposit of weapons for the First Infantry Brigade and two warehouses for the properties of the Military camp August 16th.
At the event, the authorities also announced that the School of Intelligence G2 with the mission of strengthening the training and ongoing development of this intelligence agency.
The Government also remodeled the center doctor of the military facilities and elevated it to the category of center primary health care.
“Today, we are elevating the primary care center of this military camp “on the second level, with state-of-the-art equipment from a third level. In addition, this is the only center of the Armed Forces that has a single digital record or file for patients,” said the commander general of the Army, Antonio Fernández Onofre.
In addition, they renewed the Club of Enlisted and began construction of a new building for the General Command of the Army in an area of 4,400 square meters and with a budget of 242 million pesos.
The event was attended by the Minister of Defense, Carlos Luciano Díaz Morfa, and the Minister of the Interior and Police, Jesús Vásquez Martínez, among other officials.
