71% of 43,952.6 million pesos of State income from the renegotiation of the concession contract Dominican Airports 21st Century (Aerodom) has been accrued by the Presidency and the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), with 35.5% assigned to each.
In the case of the Presidencythe General Budget Directorate (Digepres) indicates that these resources (16,000 million pesos) would be used for the management of assets, liabilities and transfers, while the MOPC (15,352.8 million pesos) would use them in infrastructure, road assistance, bridges, highways and local roads, among other investments.
From January to November 22, 2024, the Government has invested 33,746.5 million pesos of the planned budget with the resources from the renegotiation of the contract.
These funds have been allocated mainly to various public investment projects in several provinces, highlighting expenses in mass transportation works and road reconstruction in Greater Santo Domingo.

Aerodom makes record financing of US$940 million in international markets
Recently, the former president of the Republic, Leonel Fernandez, He deplored the little information about the 16,000 million pesos that have been allocated to the Presidency, without justification of the expense.
Furthermore, he pointed out that the government is not developing the works he promised when renegotiation of the 30-year contract was justified.
According to the Digepresthe largest proportion of resources assigned have been earned by the Presidency of the Republic and the MOPC. The two ministries that follow are that of the Housing, Habitat and Buildingswith 500 million pesos that have been used in their entirety, and that of Agriculturewith 176.5 million pesos spent on promoting agricultural production.
In November 2023, President Abinader announced some 150 works that would be financed with funds provided by Aerodom in a period of six months.
Among these, included:
- A bridge parallel to the Jacinto Peinado to connect Villa Mella with the National District.
- Another drawbridge to replace the Floating one.
- An overpass on the Sabana Perdida-La Victoria highway.
Passport issuance
Of the total current expense budgeted (2,900 million pesos), an item of 597 million was transferred out of 600 that was assigned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the issuance, renewal and control of passports.
The president, Luis Abinader, highlighted in La Semanal that the overpass at Isabel Aguiar is 30% complete and is a work that is being carried out with the resources of the new contract with Aerodom. He explained that this road will allow the express flow of vehicles without stopping for traffic lights, with the purpose of improving traffic on 27 de Febrero Avenue.
