Collective, close, present: these are the qualities that the new leadership that will be chosen in the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD)according to the candidate presidency of this political organization, Francisco Dominguez Brito.
The leader and former official also considers that the renewal of the third opposition entity in the country will depend on a transformation behavior that puts people at the center and defends the interests of the country.
Domínguez Brito has the important feat of facing in the urns to the current holder of the PLD and former president of the Republic, Danilo Medina, who aspires to get re-elected after reconsidering his position of giving way to another leadership.
In a context in which the party appears before the society decreased after two elections national (municipal, congressional and presidential), the urgent need for changes has caused the renewal of both the Central Committee and the Political Committee within the framework of the celebration of the X Reinaldo Pared Pérez Ordinary Congress.

Why aspire?
We aspire because PLD need a renewalyou need to connect with people again. There are new expectations and behavioral changes in the society. People expect other things from us, and I think that if we want the party to be able to return to what the glory of the past was, of being a strong party with a vocation for power, the PLD You have to make big decisions.
How to improve the image theme?
Perhaps one of the reasons why we have been punished in electoral processes is precisely because we have not put what is necessary up front.
If I were president of the party, I would take up the fight against corruptionand I would start at home. If one of us made a mistake, respecting due process, if one of us did something wrong, let truth and justice prevail. At this moment, when you see a government ethically deteriorated, I would like to see a PLD accusing, demanding investigation, a PLD at the forefront of the ethical struggle.
What are your plans for the PLD presidency?
We would have to become a much more modern party, where the planning Strategic planning and performance evaluation are the basic axes of the political exercise. Now with more serious and substantive issues, first defend to the people, defend to the population. Today we meet many families for whom money is not enough in supermarkets, and every day the situation becomes more difficult for them. Do you think it is prudent for Danilo Medina to continue assuming the leadership of the party?

There are only two candidates for the presidency, is there fear towards Danilo?
Respect, I would say, because many were employees and they worked with him, and that always exists.
Like the mass exodus of PLD militants and leaders?
He PLD has to open. You have to cry when someone leaves and smile when someone arrives. As party president, I will advocate for our party to make the youths feel like you can connect with him PLD.

Upon withdrawal of reformalert about indebtedness public
Francisco Domínguez Brito criticized the administrative management of the government current, highlighting the level of indebtedness public and the significant increase in spending.
The former attorney general expressed that after the withdrawal of the reform prosecutor, the government is obliged to take new loansciting the fact that this Wednesday the Chamber of Deputies approved three contracts for loans which total 625 million dollars for climate action programs and to combat blackouts in the Dominican Republic.
“In no government so much money had been borrowed like this, no government had invested so little in capital spending or public investments like this, but no government had had a deficit as big as this,” he said.
The PLD candidate also expressed his concern about the increase in roster public and the increase in solidarity pensions.
“Normally the deficit It was around 600 or 700 million dollars and today, in four years, it is 1.5 billion dollars. Pure negligence and the Dominican people have to pay for that taxes or with loansthere are no other forms of income at this time other than those two,” he pointed out.
